Day Spring Lodge A.F. & A.M.
Day Spring Lodge was instituted in Monson, MA in 1862 after Thomas Lodge had relocated to Palmer. Joseph L. Reynolds, a prominent local businessman in the mill industry, was one of the founding members of the lodge.
The current lodge building that is located on the corner of Bliss and Oak Streets was made possible by donations from the Reynolds family, who provides the lodge with generous support today as well.
The lodge was very active in the community throughout the 1960's and 1970's, featuring hundreds of members from a small town of only 9,000 people. Today, the Lodge is still a valuable asset to the community, and is working on renovations to its building and grounds.
Day Spring supports the local Open Pantry food bank which operates out of the lodge building. Lodge members also support the local Monson Summer Festival, as well as other good causes. The lodge has had a lot of success attracting local candidates and making them responsible Masons, which has allowed members the opportunity to shine in the area of Masonic ritual. This has allowed members to bond and form a cohesive unit of Masons who relax and work together under the tradition of Masonic tenets.
